Application

Begin your journey with AWP by filling out an employment application and telling us about yourself. During your application, you will be asked a few questions that will help us get to know you.


Screening

Upon receiving your application, our AWP recruiters will review your application to see if you will be a good fit for AWP.


Assessment

Shortly after the screening phase, an AWP recruiter will contact you via phone call to learn more about you, discuss the job of a traffic control specialist, and offer you a position in the company.


Training

All newly hired employees will begin their employment by undergoing a paid training course and certification.


On-the-Job Training

After completing the in-class training, employees will begin work and will receive on-the-job training from their peers, safety trainers, and management.

To protect the lives of motorists, pedestrians, customers, co-workers and themselves in work zones, a TCE must maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions. TCEs are expected to warn workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury to workers. Additionally, TCEs responsibilities include positioning temporary work zones using advance warning signs, traffic cones, barrels and other equipment. TCEs load and unload AWP company truck with equipment, and drive the AWP company truck to and from the work sites. A TCE must be professional and courteous treating customers, including agitated drivers, as if each is a member of our family.
