POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Communications leader is responsible for developing and leading internal and external communications to support strategic business goals. This role will work across Area Wide Protectives’ divisional business units to organize and execute proactive enterprise-wide and multi-channel media opportunities, including leading the development of content that will influence external stakeholder perception of the brand and our product offering. This role will also be part of the Marketing and Corporate Communications team and will partner closely with human resources, sales and operations to develop and deliver cohesive strategies to the organization and all external key stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute communications strategies aimed at protecting and promoting the company’s overall image among key external audiences
  • Support and help to manage communications for enterprise activities, including company and financial milestones and other key announcements
  • Develop and execute thought leadership plans to raise a company and executive profiles and strategically position the company as a leader in Traffic Management
  • Help create and maintain messages and materials that communicate company milestones and articulate corporate strategy clearly and comprehensibly to external audiences through a variety of communication vehicles
  • Serve as an integral member of a cross-functional team on different projects related to communications and programming
  • Build strong, effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders to promote value propositions, positioning statements, and key messages
  • Responsible for sales enablement and use of key tools and regularly scheduled programs/deliverables to drive content promotion and revenue growth including measurement of effectiveness
  • Lead and execute strategies for trade shows and special events (i.e., open houses, seminars, conference, sales meetings, etc.)
  • Supervise agency partners to drive tactical execution of communications strategies to manage associated budgets and ensure that metrics are reached
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of communication programs deployed, with a view to developing future improvement measures on similar or likeminded programs
  • Recommend, create, and implement best practice policies, procedures, and processes
  • Work closely with business leaders to keep abreast of company developments and market trends adjusting communications and materials to respond to changing employee demands and expectations

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

Experience must have given candidate the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism/ Communications or related field (including planning, writing, publications, media, etc.)
  • 5-8 years of business unit public relations, business-to-business, marketing required
  • Strong writing and editing skills with outstanding attention to detail; Create review and finalize clear, concise, compelling, and consistent content/messaging that effectively influences targets, using appropriate medium
  • Serve as a trusted partner to influence and gain acceptance of leaders through effective and crisp communications, relevant and insightful analysis, creative thinking and a results orientation
  • Ability to synthesize diverse activities into clear and compelling frameworks to help stakeholders understand how discrete actions support a broader agenda
  • Experience using common communications platforms to deliver messaging, including intranet, email, social media, live streaming events, etc.
  • Understanding and experience executing change management methodologies
  • Experience supporting IT, or other similar teams with the ability to understand technical programs and topics and translate into employee-friendly language
  • Excellent project management skills. Proven ability to multi-task and keep numerous projects and priorities on track and on budget simultaneously within short timelines
  • Problem solving/critical thinking – approaches challenges and problems in a rational, thoughtful manner that assures understanding and effective resolution
  •  Experience overseeing agency, vendor and/or contractor relationships
  • Curiosity – demonstrates an intense desire to explore, discover and create
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) effectively and efficiently recording all sales activity

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:

  • Hours of operation are typically 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., M-F
  • 40-hour workweek
  • Primarily sedentary or working at a desk
