AWP AWARDED FIFTH PLACE IN THE 2016 OH BWC SAFETY INNOVATIONS COMPETITION
AWP has been awarded fifth place and $1,500 in the 2016 Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Safety Innovations Competition. The safety innovation AWP implemented in our northeast Ohio facilities is the use of the Bedslide 1500 PRO CG in company pickup trucks.
The Bedslide 1500 PRO CG is a Contractor Grade Series Bedslide and enables AWP employees to easily pull the bed liner out from the bed of the truck, which has eliminated them from reaching over the sides of the truck. The equipment is now at waist height and has eliminated extended reaching, lifting and handling.
Since the implementation of the Bedslide 1500 PRO CG in 2014, AWP’s Ohio facilities have benefited from:
- No related injuries or near misses
- Less missed work
- Less road exposure for employees
- Reduced Work Zone set up time
- Reduced truck bed repairs
